Wintertime
Geodome Garage in Winter
The garage view in the middle of a cold Montana winter. Above the garage are the second and third bedrooms. The garage faces west. The large vaulted concrete section that the garage is in, extends back under the ground to the dome itself.
Geodome Home Grand Entry
Walking around from the garage one crosses a long terminal moraine that spreads out from the side of the garage section to the south to provide privacy for the large front patio. From this large landscaping feature one views the south-facing open front of the dome. The garage is to the left.
Naturally, this picture was not taken in the wintertime. In the winter, the dome face peeks out from under the thick snow, as snug and warm as ever.
Still, the most advanced book available on the subject is Passive Annual Heat Storage, Improving the Design of Earth Shelters. This 1983 text is still quite up to date as it teaches the basic methods of understanding natural heat flow methods that never change. Other supplementary materials, home plans and instruction videos are available.

You can order books, videos, and papers on a large variety of topics which are available from the Rocky Mountain Research Center.
