Dome section joining completed
Geodome Home Grand Entry
The sun scoop quarter cylinder pieces, also made of steel fiber reinforced concrete, tapered from 5 1/2 inches thick at the bottom to 3 1/2 at the top. The mix was so strong that these pieces could actually flex like a diving board without cracking.

Sun scoop and garage half cylinders attached to dome
Earth Sheltered Home
The pentagons, hexagons, and half hexes required only two cement forms, although more were made in order to speed up production.

Once the dome part was assembled, the cylindrical garage section, which enclosed the garage along with two upstairs bedrooms, a bath, and the downstairs spa room, was ready for assembly.

Here the sun scoop was being put in place. To the left is the garage cylinder encased in plastic in order to protect the fresh grout from the frigid Montana weather until it could cure.
